What is Botox treatment?
Botulinum Toxin is a neurotoxin made by the bacteria Clostridium Botulinum, an anaerobic bacteria found in soil. Botulinum Toxin is purified for clinical and cosmetic use.
Botox (Botulinum toxin) injections relax the muscles in your face to smooth out lines and wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines.
How does Botox work?
Small doses of Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is injected with a very fine needle into the desired muscle. This temporarily paralyses underlying muscles responsible for wrinkling, giving the face a more relaxed appearance. The wrinkles become smoother or disappear altogether.
What does the treatment involve?
Prior to receiving the Anti-Wrinkle injections, you will be required to have a consultation with our Doctor in the Dental Practice, Dr Harmony Ubhi, who will assess your medical history, discuss your needs, and devise a personalised treatment plan. You will also have the risks and benefits of the treatment explained to you, prior to deciding whether the treatment is right for you or not. Should you wish to proceed with the treatment, and are medically safe to do so, a prescription will then be written for you to receive the treatment at a convenient time.
